Band & Choir Perform at Severance Hall

On January 24 the Revere High School Symphonic Band & Choir had the thrill of their musical lives when they performed at Severance Hall in Cleveland as part of the Northeast Ohio Band Invitational sponsored by Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Music.   RHS music teachers Darren LeBeau and Deborah Devore prepared and led the groups.  The band and choir joined forces for Gabriel Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine.   Clarinetist and Revere alumna Abby Mariano was featured as soloist with band accompaniment on Adagio-Tarantella by Ernesto Cavallini.  Mariano is a double major in music education and clarinet performance at Kent State University.

"It was an amazing experience to sing in such a historical place,” said senior chorister Cody Hernandez.  His mother, Karen, echoed his sentiment. "The atmosphere was picture perfect and the instruments and voices sounded even better in such a wonderful venue," she said.

Other Revere musical events for March will include the 6th & 7th grade band concert on March 2 at 7:00 pm in the RHS auditorium.  The Revere Music Parents will meet March 2 at 7:30 in the RHS library.  On March 5 Revere will host OMEA district band contest in the auditorium while the choir will compete in district contest at Copley High School the same day.  The RHS music department trip to the Virginia Dixie Classic will be March 25th – 28th.
